Competition venues, crags, big walls and even bigger mountains. Safe to say, Liv knows a thing or two about climbing. Invariably in awe of nature, in love with adventure. The ultimate fan of homemade kombucha, and LYO Mash and Cheese.

How would you describe your relationship with nature?
My relationship with nature is pretty… natural. I mean, I have always been in nature. It's a place I respect a lot. I have learnt to observe, and I'm always amazed by it.
If Mother Nature could talk, what do you think she would tell us humans?
But she talks! “Hey, look at me. Shut down your cellphone, smell me, feel the wind, touch the grass, the rocks, the trees… and take care of me!”
Which expedition experience has shaped you most as a person?
I think every expedition is different, and you always come back as a new and transformed person. But the most human expedition/experience I had, was when we brought our girlfriend Vanessa, who was paralyzed, climbing El Cap. Definitely the most powerful experience I've ever had, both in terms of human connection and the sports aspect!
What basic qualities should your expedition partner have?
He or she must be cool, patient and fun. On expeditions there is a lot of waiting (because of weather or acclimatization), there is a lot of discomfort etc. So you need friends with a really cool attitude.
Which LYO product can’t you imagine going on an expedition without?
Mash and Cheese! It’s my new favorite! On a high-altitude expedition your sense of taste can change a lot, and it is difficult to eat. However, Mash and Cheese always remains tasty and easy to consume for me.
If you were not a athlete, who would you be?
A different me.
Why alpinism then?
Because it’s my passion, my love, and it drives me!
