Marek Kamiński is a Polish polar explorer, author and photographer. He is well known for being the only person who reached the North Pole and South Pole in the same year.
1996 Kaminski launched a foundation to help young disabled people and enable them to visit the Polar Regions. The foundation is involved in creating and running educational programs, fund-raising for prostheses for those in need, and integrated camps for the disabled people. In 2003 he decided to organize an expedition to both poles with the 15-year old disabled Jasiek Mela who had lost his arm and a leg two years before.
LYOFOOD was the official partner of this expedition. During their hike to the Poles, Kaminski and Mela were eating LYO EXPEDITION freeze-dried outdoor food. Since then, Marek is always coming back to us when he needs expedition food.
